Will my phone work with an eSIM?
Most phones from 2020 onwards support eSIM: iPhone XS and newer, most Samsung S and recent A series, and Google Pixel 3 and newer. Your phone also needs to be carrier-unlocked. Use the checker above, or message us on WhatsApp before you buy if you are unsure.
Are Slashtel’s prices competitive?
Yes. We sell directly, with no app to download and no local middleman, so on like-for-like data and validity our plans are priced to compete with the big-name travel eSIM apps. The price you see is the real price, with no inflated ‘was’ figures.
Do I keep my home SIM and WhatsApp number?
Yes. Keep your home SIM in the phone: your number stays reachable and bank OTPs by SMS keep arriving, and WhatsApp stays on your existing number. Cellular calls and texts still run through your home carrier at its usual roaming rates, so most travellers use WhatsApp or other apps over the Slashtel data instead. Slashtel is data only, it supplies your internet, not a number, calls or SMS.

When should I install it?
Before you fly, on Wi-Fi. Installation takes about two minutes, and the plan only starts counting once you connect at your destination, so you can buy days ahead.
Can I pay from another country, in my own currency?
Yes. Pay by any international card in USD, GBP, EUR, INR or AED. Parents or friends can pay and forward you the QR by email. No UK bank account or address is needed.
What is an eSIM?
A SIM card built into your phone, with no plastic to swap. Instead of a physical card, you scan a QR code and a data plan is added in a couple of taps. It sits alongside your existing SIM, so you keep your normal number, and almost every phone from 2020 onwards supports it.
Which mobile network will I be on?
Your eSIM connects automatically to a strong local network in each country, up to 5G where your phone supports it. See the networks per country on our coverage page. The network is chosen for the best signal, so it is not a single fixed carrier.
Is Slashtel legitimate, and who runs it?
Slashtel is run by a company registered in the United Kingdom. Full company details are on our About page. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, and support is on WhatsApp seven days a week.
Can I add more data or top up?
Yes. Add data to the eSIM you already have on our Top up page, no new QR needed.
What if it doesn't work?
Message us on WhatsApp. Most issues are a single settings toggle and are fixed in minutes. If your eSIM is unused and genuinely cannot connect, we refund quickly.
