How the International Day Pass is structured

AT&T sells roaming through a single product, the International Day Pass. It covers 210+ destinations. The pass does not carry its own data allowance: it lets you use your domestic plan while abroad, so data comes from your domestic unlimited plan. Talk and text are unlimited under the pass. The pass is charged per day of use rather than sold as a fixed block of days or a fixed data bundle, and AT&T does not state a data figure for it.

Adding, charging and multiple lines

The pass is charged for each day you use your phone in a covered destination. Days on which the phone is not used abroad are not charged under this structure. Each additional line on the account that uses the International Day Pass on the same day is charged separately, so a family or shared account pays per line per day of use.

Pairing the home SIM with a data-only eSIM

A traveller on AT&T can keep the AT&T SIM in the phone for calls, texts and bank codes, and add a Slashtel prepaid data-only eSIM for mobile data. The eSIM connects to local networks with automatic network selection, is installed by QR code before the trip and switched on when you land. It carries data only and has no phone number, so calls and texts stay on the home SIM or go over internet apps.
