You are flying to Spain from the UK or India. You have a holiday, an Erasmus semester, or a long winter escape planned. You do not want to land in Madrid or Barcelona and hunt for a SIM card shop while your luggage sits unattended.
A Slashtel Spain eSIM solves that. You buy it online, scan a QR code, and you have data from the moment you switch off airplane mode. It works on a major UK network's Spanish partner, so coverage is solid in cities and along the coast.
UK residents fly to Spain for long weekends and winter sun. The short flight and two-hour time difference make it easy. You want data for Google Maps, WhatsApp calls home, and booking restaurant tables on the go. You do not want to think about connectivity.
Indian students and professionals based in the UK often visit Spain for city breaks or to meet friends across Europe. If you also keep an Indian SIM for bank OTPs, you can run both SIMs at once — the Slashtel eSIM handles data, your Indian SIM handles SMS.
| Plan | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 5GB / 30 days | from $6.29 | 3–7 day trip: maps, WhatsApp, light social media |
| 10GB / 30 days | from $8.99 | 7–14 days, or daily video calls |
| 20GB / 30 days | from $13.99 | 2–3 weeks with streaming or work |
| 50GB / 30 days | from $35.99 | Long stays, heavy streaming, hotspot use |
A 5GB plan covers a typical week: 30 minutes of maps per day, WhatsApp messages with photos, and occasional Instagram scrolling. If you plan to stream Netflix on the hotel Wi-Fi, you are fine. If you stream on mobile data, step up to 10GB.
Arrival airport data. Madrid-Barajas and Barcelona-El Prat have free Wi-Fi, but it often requires a registration form. Your eSIM activates on landing, so you can skip the airport Wi-Fi queue and go straight to the taxi rank or metro.
Keep your home SIM for OTPs. If you have an Indian SIM, keep it active for banking codes. Your Spain eSIM runs in parallel, so you do not lose access to either. For UK users, your UK SIM can stay in the second slot for calls, while data runs on the eSIM.
Installation takes about two minutes. Buy the plan, scan the QR code, and the eSIM sits ready on your phone. Data starts only when you connect to a Spanish network.

If you also need to top up an Indian number for OTPs while abroad, see our India recharge page.
Yes. A Slashtel Spain eSIM connects to a local Spanish network when you land, so you pay the flat data rate shown at checkout. Your UK mobile plan is not involved, so there are no roaming fees from your UK provider.
For a 7-day trip with maps, WhatsApp, and occasional social media, 5GB is usually enough. If you plan to stream video or work remotely, choose the 10GB plan. The 5GB Spain eSIM costs $6.29 and lasts 30 days.
Your Indian SIM will still receive SMS on roaming, which covers bank OTPs. Keep it in a second phone or a dual-SIM slot, and use the Slashtel eSIM for data. That way you avoid international roaming data charges from your Indian carrier.
The data starts when your phone first connects to a Spanish network. You can install the eSIM on Wi-Fi before you fly, and it will activate automatically on arrival. There is no need to contact support when you land.
Most recent phones support eSIM, including iPhone XS or newer and most Android flagships from 2020 onwards. Check our compatibility guide for the full list. If your phone does not support eSIM, you may need a physical SIM instead.
Yes. You can use your Spain eSIM as a mobile hotspot for a laptop or tablet. The data comes from your plan allowance, so keep an eye on usage if you are on the 5GB plan.
