An international roaming pack from Jio or Vi keeps your Indian SIM registered on a network in the UAE: incoming calls, bank and UPI OTPs and WhatsApp codes keep arriving on the number you already have. The operator apps want an Indian card or UPI; here you pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay in your own currency and the pack lands on the line in about a minute.

To recharge to India from the UAE, enter the 10 digit Indian mobile number without the leading zero, choose a plan and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Top ups start at $2.65 and arrive in minutes. Airtel, BSNL, Jio and Vi numbers are all supported, and the operator is detected automatically.

You can recharge to India from the UAE in a few minutes. Enter the 10 digit number without the leading zero, pick a plan, and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The operator is detected from the number itself, so there is nothing to select. The top up is delivered to the phone in India, usually within minutes.
Plans cover two broad needs: data only, and data with unlimited calls. Small data packs suit a number that mainly receives bank OTPs, while unlimited call packs suit a family member who uses the phone every day. Validity runs from a single day up to 35 days depending on the pack chosen.
Data packs are the lightest option. A Vi 2 GB Data pack runs for 2 days, a BSNL 8 GB Data Pack for 7 days, and a Vi 3 GB Data for 28 days. Larger data packs such as the BSNL 20 GB Data Pack and BSNL 40 GB Data Pack cover 7 and 30 days. A Jio 25GB 1Day pack is built for a single heavy day.
Combined packs add calls. The Airtel UL calls + 2GB data and Vi UL calls + 2GB packs both run 28 days, the Jio UL calls + 2GB/day pack runs 14 days, and BSNL offers UL calls + UL data packs across 24, 25 and 35 days. The amount shown for each is what the Indian number receives after the operator's tax.
Many people in the UAE keep an Indian number alive for two reasons: their own number, so bank OTPs and account messages still arrive, and a family member's number back home. A small top up at the right time stops the number from going dormant and keeps incoming SMS working.
If the number is your own, it is the one tied to your Indian bank account, UPI and government records. Those services send one time passwords by SMS, and an inactive prepaid number can stop receiving them. A modest data pack or call pack every so often keeps the line in service.
If the number belongs to a parent, a spouse or a child in India, the top up is simply practical support. You pay from the UAE and the pack lands on their phone. Data packs suit someone who mostly uses messaging apps, while unlimited call packs suit a household that makes a lot of voice calls.
Indian mobile numbers have 10 digits. In national form they are written with a leading zero, such as 081234 56789, but that zero is dropped when the number is written in international format. The country code is 91, so the full form is +91 81234 56789.
Getting this wrong is the most common reason a recharge fails or lands on the wrong line. Remove the leading zero, keep all 10 digits, and use the 91 country code. Do not add a second zero after the country code.
Check the number against a recent message or a saved contact before paying. If the operator shown does not match the network the person actually uses, stop and recheck the digits.
Payment is by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, so no UAE bank transfer or Indian payment app is needed. The lowest top up starts at $2.65. The figure shown for each plan is the amount that lands on the Indian number after the operator's tax has been applied.
There are 32 plans across Airtel, BSNL, Jio and Vi, so both small top ups and full monthly packs are covered. A short data pack for a number that only needs to receive messages costs less than a full unlimited call pack for a family member.
Because the amount displayed is the receive amount, there is no separate tax to work out. What you see on the plan is what the phone in India gets. Recharges are delivered in minutes, and the confirmation appears once the operator has applied the pack.
Enter the 10 digit Indian mobile number in international format, dropping the leading zero, for example +91 81234 56789. The operator is detected automatically. Choose a plan, pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and the top up reaches the phone in India in minutes.
Yes. An India recharge from the UAE works for Airtel, BSNL, Jio and Vi numbers. Enter the number without the leading zero, pick a plan such as the Jio 25GB 1Day pack or the Jio UL calls + 2GB/day pack, and pay from the UAE.

A prepaid Indian number that has been inactive can stop receiving SMS, including bank one time passwords. Keeping the line active with a small data or call pack at regular intervals helps it stay in service while you live in the UAE.
No. Indian mobile numbers have 10 digits and are written with a leading zero in national form, such as 081234 56789. In international format that zero is dropped, so the correct form is +91 81234 56789.
