Where you can top up Orange

Slashtel sells Orange top ups for prepaid numbers in seven countries: Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and DR Congo. Orange operates in each of these markets under its own local entity, so the plans on offer differ from country to country. A top up bought for a number in Morocco adds credit or a plan to that Moroccan line only. It cannot be moved to a number in another country, and it cannot be used on a line that is not Orange.

The number of plans shown varies by country, from a short list in Tunisia to a longer one in Senegal. What matters is that the list you see is the list that applies to the number you entered.

How to send a Orange top-up from abroad

You can send an Orange top up from any country, at any hour, without an account at the operator and without the recipient doing anything. The steps below take a couple of minutes. The top up lands on the prepaid number in minutes, and the person receiving it does not need to install an app or change any setting.

1. Enter the Orange mobile number you want to top up, including the country code.
2. Check the operator and country shown, then choose a plan from the list that appears.
3. Pay with a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
4. Wait for the confirmation. The credit or plan is added to the number in minutes.

Keep the confirmation for your own records. If the person you are topping up asks what happened, the answer is simple: the balance or the plan is already on the line.

What arrives on the phone in each country

What arrives depends on the country of the number. In Egypt the balance arrives in EGP, in Morocco in MAD, in Tunisia in TND, in Senegal and Ivory Coast in XOF, in Cameroon in XAF, and in DR Congo in USD. The amount shown at checkout is the amount that lands on the line after the operator's tax, where a tax applies.

A top up can add call credit, data, or a bundle that combines both, depending on what the operator offers for that number. The plan list is the source of truth: it shows what each option gives and what it costs before you pay.

Because the currencies differ, a top up for a number in DR Congo and a top up for a number in Senegal are not the same product and are not priced the same way. Compare the plans inside one country, not across countries.

Entering the number correctly

Enter the Orange number in full, with the country code and without the leading zero that is used for local dialling. Egypt uses 20, Morocco 212, Tunisia 216, Senegal 221, Ivory Coast 225, Cameroon 237 and DR Congo 243. The operator is detected from the number, so a correct number is what makes the right plans appear.

If you are given a number written in local form, drop the first zero and put the country code in front of it. A number that looks too short or too long is usually a sign that a digit is missing or that the country code has been left out.

Check the country shown next to the number before you pay. If it does not match where the person lives, the number has probably been typed incorrectly.

If a top-up does not go through

Most failed top ups are caused by a wrong digit, a number that is not Orange, or a number that is not prepaid. Check the number first, then check that the line is an Orange prepaid line. If the payment was taken but nothing arrived, contact Slashtel support with the order reference and the number.

A top up cannot be sent to a postpaid or contract line, and it cannot be sent to a number on another network. If the operator detected from the number is not Orange, the plans shown will not be Orange plans.

Delivery normally takes minutes. If more than a short time has passed and the balance has not changed, the recipient can switch the phone off and on again to refresh the display, and you can send the order details to support.
