Lyca prepaid lines can take credit or a plan. Credit is used for calls, texts and data at the rates on the line. A plan usually bundles an allowance for a set period. The options that appear depend on what is available for that number at the time.
If a plan is taxed by the operator, the amount shown is what lands on the phone after that tax. You do not need to calculate anything yourself. The checkout shows the final amount before you pay.
Top-ups are for prepaid lines only. If the number is on a contract or pay monthly plan, a top-up is not the right product and the line may not accept it.
Enter the Lyca number as 10 digits after the country code 44, dropping the leading zero. A UK mobile such as 07400 123456 becomes +44 7400 123456. If the number is entered with the wrong number of digits, the operator may not be detected and the top-up cannot be delivered.
The country code for the United Kingdom is 44. UK mobile numbers have 10 digits after that code. The leading zero that you see in the national format is not used in the international format.
Check the number twice before paying. A top-up sent to a wrong number usually cannot be reversed, because it lands on a live line straight away. If you are topping up for someone else, ask them to confirm the number in writing.
Slashtel detects the operator from the number. You do not choose Lyca from a list. If the number is correct and the operator shown is Lyca, you can continue to payment.
If a top-up does not go through, first check the number and the operator shown. Most failures come from a wrong digit, a number that is not prepaid, or a payment that was not completed. If the payment went through but the line is not updated, wait a few minutes and check again.
A top-up is usually delivered in minutes. If the line still shows no change after a short wait, the person receiving it can restart the phone and check the balance again. Some lines update the balance only after a restart.
If the payment was declined, no top-up is sent. You can try again with another card or wallet. If the number is not a Lyca prepaid line, the top-up will not be delivered and the payment is normally returned.
Keep the confirmation you receive after payment. It shows the number, the amount and the time of the order, which helps if you need to follow up.
Pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on the Slashtel checkout. The price includes a service fee, shown before payment, so the total you see is the total you pay. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by Slashtel.
Use a card or wallet in your own name. If the payment is flagged by your bank, the top-up will not be sent until the payment is approved. This can happen when you pay from a country that is different from the billing address.
You do not need an account on the receiving phone and you do not need the Lyca app. The top-up is sent to the number, not to a device, so it works even if the phone is switched off at the time of payment.
After payment, keep the confirmation message. It is the record of the order and the fastest way to check what was sent and when.
