Sri Lankan mobile numbers have nine digits after the country code, and the leading zero is dropped when you use the international form. 071 234 5678 becomes +94 71 234 5678. If you type the number with the zero after 94, the top up may fail or reach the wrong place, so check it before paying.
The country code for Sri Lanka is 94. The example above follows the standard pattern for a Sri Lankan mobile, and Dialog numbers sit within it. Take the number from the person you are topping up rather than from memory, and read it back to them before you confirm.
Slashtel works out the operator from the number you enter. That means you do not pick Dialog from a list. If the number belongs to Mobitel, Hutch or Airtel, the order will be routed to that operator instead, so make sure you are sending to the phone you intend.
Most failed top ups come from a mistyped number, a number that has been ported to another operator, or a card payment that the bank declined. Check the digits against the phone itself, confirm the operator shown matches Dialog, and try a different payment method if the card was refused.
