How to send a Digicel top-up from abroad

1. Enter the Digicel number with its country dial code, for example 509 for Haiti or 1 for Jamaica.
2. Wait while the operator is detected and the available plans load.
3. Choose the plan you want to send.
4. Pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
5. The top-up is delivered to the Digicel number in minutes.

You can send a top-up from any country. The person receiving it does not need an app or a data connection to receive the credit or plan.

What arrives on the phone in each country

What arrives on the phone depends on the country. In Haiti, the top-up lands in HTG. In Jamaica, it lands in JMD. The amount shown at checkout is what lands after the operator's tax, so the credit or plan value on the phone matches what you paid for.

Haiti has 21 Digicel plans available and Jamaica has 13. The plans differ by country, so the options you see for a Haitian number are not the same as those for a Jamaican number. Plans appear once the number is entered.

If a plan is taxed, the amount shown is what lands after the operator's tax. That means the value added to the phone is the value you selected, not a reduced amount.

Entering the number correctly

Entering the number correctly is the most important step. Include the country dial code: 509 for Haiti and 1 for Jamaica. Check the digits before paying, because a top-up sent to the wrong number cannot be reversed. The operator is detected from the number, so the correct dial code is what loads the right plans.

For Haiti, the number starts with 509. For Jamaica, it starts with 1. Do not add a plus sign or spaces if the field does not accept them; follow the format shown on the page.

If the number is entered correctly, the operator appears automatically and the plans load. If nothing loads, the number may be incomplete or may not be a Digicel prepaid number.

If a top-up does not go through

If a top-up does not go through, the most common cause is an incorrect number or a number that is not an active Digicel prepaid line. Check the dial code and digits first. If the number is correct and the top-up still fails, the payment may not have completed, or the operator may have rejected the request.

A top-up adds credit or a plan to an existing prepaid line. It does not work on postpaid or contract lines. If the number is on a contract plan, the top-up will not be applied.

When a top-up fails, no credit is added and the payment is not captured. You can try again with the same number once you have checked the dial code and digits. Delivery to a working prepaid number takes minutes.
