A Georgia eSIM gives you mobile data from $2.69 on the Magti, Cellfie and Silknet networks, with 5G where available. Plans are data only, with no local number. You install the eSIM before you fly and it connects automatically when you land, which suits Tbilisi city breaks, wine country drives and mountain trips in the Caucasus.
Pick a plan that covers the main networks, has enough data for your trip, stays valid for your whole stay and supports hotspot. Those four points decide whether an eSIM works well for Georgia, and everything else is detail.
Coverage matters most. A Georgia eSIM should roam onto Magti, Cellfie and Silknet, so your phone can use whichever signal is strongest where you are. The network is chosen automatically, so you do not switch anything by hand.
Data size comes next. City breaks use less than mountain trips, where maps, photo backup and translation apps run all day. Match the plan to the length of your stay and the way you travel.
Validity should cover the whole trip, not just the first few days. A plan that expires mid trip leaves you buying again. Check the days on each plan before you pay.
Hotspot support matters if you carry a laptop or travel with someone who needs data. A Georgia eSIM plan can share its connection with your other devices, so one plan can serve a small group.
Install before you fly. Adding the eSIM at home, on reliable wifi, means it is ready when you land. If you are asking what the best eSIM for Georgia is for your trip, the answer is the plan that fits your days, your data use and your phone's compatibility, not the one with the longest feature list.
Georgia eSIM plans run from 1GB to 20GB, with 7, 15 or 30 day validity, starting at $2.69. Prices below are live and update with the plan you choose.
| Plan | Days | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 1GB | 7 | $2.69 |
| 2GB | 15 | $6.09 |
| 3GB | 30 | $6.49 |
| 5GB | 7 | $8.99 |
| 10GB | 15 | $17.09 |
| 20GB | 30 | $31.29 |
The table shows the combinations we list. Short trips pair small data with short validity, and longer stays pair larger data with longer validity. If you need more data than your validity allows, choose a larger plan rather than topping up mid trip.
Every plan is data only. There is no local number and no calls or SMS on the eSIM itself. Prices are in US dollars and shown from $2.69, and the live token in the table reflects the current price for each plan.
Georgia eSIM connects to Magti, Cellfie and Silknet, with 5G where those networks offer it. Your phone picks the network automatically, so you do not need to choose one in settings.
Magti, Cellfie and Silknet are the three main mobile networks in the country. Between them they cover the places most visitors go: Tbilisi, the wine regions of Kakheti, and the mountain areas of the Caucasus. Coverage in deep valleys and high passes can be weaker than in towns, which is normal for mountain terrain.
5G is available on the networks that support it. Where 5G is not present, your phone falls back to the available signal, so you keep a data connection. We do not quote speeds or coverage percentages, because they vary by location, device and time of day.
If your phone shows no data after landing, check that the eSIM line is switched on and that data roaming is enabled for that line. The network selection should stay on automatic. Manual selection is only useful if you want to test a specific network, and you can set it back to automatic afterwards.
Match data to trip length and how much you use maps, photos and video. These are the trip types we list, with the data and validity that fit them.
Those are starting points. If you stream video, take video calls over data, or use hotspot for a laptop, move up to 5GB, 10GB or 20GB. A Tbilisi city break with hotel wifi usually needs less than a Caucasus road trip where you navigate all day.
WhatsApp and FaceTime calls use data, so factor them in if you plan to call home often. A short voice call uses little data, while a long video call uses more. If you are unsure, buy one size up rather than run out in the middle of a mountain drive.
Install the Georgia eSIM at home on wifi, then switch it on when you land. Installing in advance avoids depending on airport wifi and lets you test that the eSIM appears in your settings.
On iPhone, open Settings, then Mobile Data, and add the eSIM using the QR code or manual details we provide. Follow our guide to installing an eSIM on iPhone and Android for the step by step. On Android, the menu names differ by manufacturer, but the process is the same: add a plan, scan the code, label the line.
Before you travel, check that your phone supports eSIM and is not locked to a single carrier. Our guide to checking if your phone is eSIM compatible explains what to look for. Most recent iPhones and many recent Android phones support eSIM, but older models may not.
Keep the eSIM line switched off until you are close to departure or have landed, depending on how your plan validity starts. Set the Georgia eSIM as the line for mobile data, and keep your home SIM active for calls and texts.
The Georgia eSIM is data only, so it carries no local number and cannot make calls or send SMS. You can still use WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram and similar apps for calls and messages over data.
Keep your home SIM in the phone for calls and bank codes. Bank verification texts and calls from home arrive on your home number, so leave that line active for calls and SMS. Set the Georgia eSIM as the mobile data line, and set your home SIM as the default for voice and texts.
If your home carrier charges for roaming, turn off data roaming on the home line and leave it on for the eSIM line. That way your data goes through the Georgia plan and your home line stays available for incoming calls and codes.
Calls to Georgian landlines and mobile numbers are not part of this plan. Use a data based app for those calls, or a local service if you need one. We do not provide a local number with any Georgia plan.
The answers below cover the questions we see most often about Georgia eSIM plans. If your question is about your specific phone model, check the compatibility guide before buying.
Buying is straightforward: choose a plan, pay, and install the eSIM before you travel. The plan is data only, works on Magti, Cellfie and Silknet, and connects automatically. If something does not work after landing, check the eSIM line is on and data roaming is enabled for it.
Yes. Every Georgia plan is data only. There is no local number, and you cannot make calls or send SMS through the eSIM. WhatsApp, FaceTime and other apps work over the data connection.
You can call and message through WhatsApp, FaceTime and similar apps over data. Regular phone calls and SMS do not work on the eSIM. Keep your home SIM active for calls and bank codes.
Yes, the plan supports hotspot, so you can share data with a laptop or another phone. Sharing uses your data allowance, so watch the total if you tether for long periods.
The plan validity begins when the eSIM first connects to a network in Georgia, not when you buy it. That means you can install it at home before you fly without using up your days.
You can buy another plan if you need more data or more days. Choose a plan that covers the rest of your trip. We do not offer partial refunds for unused data.
Most recent iPhones and many recent Android phones support eSIM. The phone must also be carrier unlocked. Check our compatibility guide before buying to confirm your model.
