Vi sells prepaid international roaming packs in three families: Budget, Unlimited range and Gulf special (Saudi, UAE, Iraq). The Budget family runs on validity and data: 5 days with 1GB and calls charged per minute, 10 days with 1.25GB and 100 minutes, 15 days with 2GB and 200 minutes, and 30 days with 5GB and 200 minutes. A separate Budget annual pack lasts 365 days with 1.5GB and 125 minutes, and its benefits vary by country; in the UAE it gives 25 minutes and no data.
The Unlimited range covers short and long trips. The 1 day pack gives 1GB, 120 minutes of calls and unlimited incoming calls. The 4 day and 28 day packs give 4GB and 15GB respectively, each with 120 minutes per day outgoing and unlimited incoming. The 7, 10 and 14 day packs include unlimited calls and unlimited data in the USA and UK, with benefits varying by country.
The Gulf special family covers Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Iraq with unlimited incoming calls. The 20 day pack gives 2GB and 150 minutes; the 40 day pack gives 4GB and 300 minutes.
Vi sells these as prepaid packs, so the allowance is set when you buy. The pack data is a fixed quantity on the Budget and Gulf special packs, and on the 1 day, 4 day and 28 day Unlimited packs. The 7, 10 and 14 day Unlimited packs give unlimited data in the USA and UK instead.
Vi also sells a separate pack giving free incoming SMS for 28 days in 199 countries, with other services charged at standard rates. That keeps bank OTPs arriving while abroad.
A Slashtel prepaid data-only travel eSIM covers 190+ countries. The Vi SIM stays in the phone for calls, texts and bank codes, and the eSIM carries mobile data. The eSIM connects to local networks with automatic network selection, is installed by QR code before the trip and switched on when you land. It has no phone number, so calls and texts stay on the Vi SIM or go over internet apps.
This page compares each Vi pack with live data eSIM prices for the same trip, destination by destination. Check the table above for the destinations where the eSIM costs less, and see roaming from India for the wider picture. Travellers comparing operators can also read Jio roaming packs.
