Roaming Price Index
What a week of roaming costs on 45 mobile networks in 16 countries, for trips to Europe, the USA, Dubai and Thailand. Each price is the cheapest way to get 7 days with at least 5GB of data (or your home plan's allowance) from the network's own roaming passes or daily charges, taken from its own website. Updated daily.
The index is being rebuilt. Please check back in a few minutes.
How the index is built
- Prices come from each network's own roaming pages and price guides, checked by hand. A tariff older than 100 days drops out until it is checked again.
- For each destination the index takes the cheapest way to cover 7 days and at least 5GB of data with that network's passes or daily charges. A smaller or shorter pass is counted as bought again until both are covered; a daily charge is counted for 7 days.
- Many passes let you use your home plan's allowance abroad rather than a fixed amount of data; the Data column says which.
- Pay-as-you-go per-MB rates are left out, and so are networks that include the destination in the home plan at no extra cost.
- US dollar figures use the daily reference rate. 0 network and destination prices are in this edition.
