Moving between terminals and car parks
AirTrain runs two loops. The Red Line is a clockwise service taking about nine minutes and connects all terminals, terminal garages, the BART Station and the Grand Hyatt at SFO. The Blue Line runs counterclockwise in about 25 minutes and adds Long-Term Parking and the Rental Car Center. Trains run 24 hours a day, as often as every four minutes, though between 11pm and 5am travel times may be longer due to maintenance. The AirTrain station currently serving Terminal 3 is closed until the new facility opens in 2027, so use the combined Terminals 2 & 3 AirTrain Station.
Ride-hail pick-ups and waiting
At domestic terminals, Lyft and Uber pick-ups are on Level 5 of the Domestic Garage. At the International Terminal they are on the Departures/Ticketing Level roadway centre island zones 12 to 17. If you are collecting someone, the SFO Cell Phone Waiting Lot allows waits of up to one hour; vehicles may not wait at terminal curbside or on airport roadways. Free WiFi is available, so you can get your data working on landing with an eSIM before you leave the terminal.
Skip the airport Wi-Fi
Airport Wi-Fi usually means a sign-up page, an email address and a connection that stops at the terminal doors. A data eSIM keeps you online at the gate, in the taxi and at the hotel, and your own number stays on for calls and bank codes.
