Terminals at Munich Airport
Munich Airport has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Taxi ranks are in the departure and arrival areas of both. In Terminal 2 there is a taxi service point on level 03. Allow time to move around: you may have to walk longer distances and may need a shuttle bus or shuttle train to reach your gate.
Getting to the city from arrivals
The S-Bahn lines S1 and S8 take about 40 minutes to the central train station in the city centre. S1 runs via the west and S8 via the east, with a 10-minute interval between airport and city centre. The Lufthansa Express Bus takes 45 minutes between Central Station and the airport, running every 20 minutes, 365 days a year. The same bus takes 25 minutes between Munich North (Schwabing) and the airport.
Arrivals tips for a smooth start
The S-Bahn stops at two airport stations: Visitors Park ("Besucherpark") and Flughafen München, which serves Terminal 1 and 2. Check your connection before you travel, since times may change at short notice due to construction work or disruptions. Flixbus long-distance stops are a few steps from Terminal 2 at bus stops 21 and 22, and Terminal 1 is a five to 10 minute walk away. If you park in P41, P43, P44, P50, P51, P90, P91 or P92, your parking ticket covers public transport to your departure terminal. Having your data working on landing makes it easier to check connections.
Skip the airport Wi-Fi
Airport Wi-Fi usually means a sign-up page, an email address and a connection that stops at the terminal doors. A data eSIM keeps you online at the gate, in the taxi and at the hotel, and your own number stays on for calls and bank codes.
